Where does a spring’s value come from?
A spring’s value comes from the right design and material, performance suited to the working conditions, on-time delivery and technical support. Maktel combines production experience dating back to 1971 with CNC technology, engineering knowledge and quality systems, addressing process safety, quality control, traceability and supply continuity together.
Why does total cost matter when buying springs?
Purchase price is only one part of a technical part’s total cost. Inconsistent spring quality can lead to production line stoppages, assembly problems, product returns, service costs, rework, customer dissatisfaction, and lost time and reputation. Maktel aims to reduce the customer’s total cost, risk and operational burden by delivering the right product at the required quality and on time.
How does experience since 1971 benefit your project?
Maktel brings the experience it has built working with different materials, geometries, force characteristics and production processes to each project, evaluating the technical drawing together with the part’s working conditions, potential risks and critical details for series production.
What engineering support does Maktel provide?
Maktel provides technical support to customers in new product development and in optimising existing springs. The scope of engineering support covers material selection, spring geometry, force characteristics, fatigue life, manufacturability, prototyping, testing and suitability for series production. When needed, Maktel reviews the technical drawing, examines the sample and develops suggestions to improve manufacturability.
How is quality verified in spring production?
Maktel manages quality from raw material to shipment: raw material → engineering → production → process control → measurement → testing → traceability → shipment. Maktel’s IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality systems are supported by APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, IMDS, 8D and VDA 6.3 methods. Maktel aims to maintain the same quality level from the first part through to high-volume series production.
What does Maktel’s production infrastructure offer?
Maktel’s machine park has more than 160 production machines, around 70% of them CNC technology. CNC spring production, CNC wire forming, laser cutting, wire EDM, machining, grinding and shot peening technologies provide production flexibility — supporting controlled management of different customer needs from prototype to high-volume series production.
How does raw material stock support supply security?
Through its raw material stock, machine park and production planning infrastructure, Maktel aims to reduce customers’ supply risk. A safety stock of over 250 tonnes and raw material variety support a faster response to changing customer demand. Maktel treats delivery as part of the customer’s own production continuity.
What support is available after product delivery?
After delivery, customers can still reach Maktel’s teams for technical support, product optimisation, material evaluation, process development, quality analysis, problem solving, sample development and series-production support. When an issue arises, Maktel focuses on identifying the root cause, developing a lasting solution and preventing recurrence.
