Flat springs generate force through the elastic deformation of flat or shaped metal strips, used for fastening, compression, locking, contact and controlled motion. Maktel produces flat springs and precision-formed metal parts from 0.10 to 3.00 mm material thickness and 1.5 to 50 mm width for automotive, defence, appliance, electrical-electronic, machinery and fastening applications.
Product range
We produce flat and curved band springs, clip-type springs, contact springs, retaining and fastening parts, locking elements, custom-bent metal parts and laser-cut geometries — custom strip and plate parts are produced from prototype to high-volume series production.
CNC laser cutting and wire EDM
Alongside CNC forming and die operations, CNC laser cutting is used for complex outer contours, precision holes, slots and fine geometric details — supporting fast samples, prototypes and low-volume custom production without tooling. Wire EDM is used for tight-tolerance contours, complex internal/external geometries, precision die components and technical parts requiring high dimensional accuracy.
Material and surface treatments
We use carbon and stainless spring steels, high-tensile special-alloy strips, heat-treatable spring steels and project-specific strip/plate materials. Heat treatment, stress relieving, hardening and tempering, shot peening, Cr+3 zinc plating, nickel plating, phosphating, black oxide, cataphoretic coating and passivation are applied per product and customer specification.
Production and quality control
The production method is determined by thickness, width, geometry, force, tolerances, surface requirements and quantity; dimensional, geometric, angle, critical tolerance, spring function, force and visual checks are carried out along with specification-specific inspections.
